I was born and raised in Bavaria, Germany. During my childhood I also lived in Switzerland, and South Africa. As a little girl, I always knew I wanted to explore the world.

I have formal education in language and speak fluent Czech, German, and English. I also speak some Russian and French.

After completing university studies, I moved to the USA.

I have been fortunate to travel the world professionally and for pleasure. I have always been active outdoors to include skiing, hiking, bicycling, backpacking, and camping. I also enjoy photography and am looking forward to sharing my work.

The only thing missing was sailing, until I met Nick. Now I have several thousand miles of sailing experience. Sailing has become a whole new world of adventures. Nick and I are tackling one of our biggest life challenges together.

I was born in Michigan. After High School, I joined the US Merchant Marines serving on tugboats throughout the Great Lakes and Mississippi River. A desire to seek education led to a Bachelor's degree from the University of Alaska. Employment in State and Federal law enforcement followed.

I hold a USCG 100 Ton Master License (increasing tonnage soon) and have appeared in National Geographic videos shown here.

In 7th grade, I read a series of National Geographic articles about Robin Lee Graham sailing around the world alone at age 16. Since that time, I have worked on a lifelong plan to circumnavigate the globe.

Since Monika and I met, we have explored the world together. Monika has been a steadfast partner during the circumnavigation endeavor. I am looking forward to attempting this adventure with her.
