If one cannot get a hydraulic semi trailer to pick the boat up and bring it to a boat lift/launch area, one has to come up with different ideas!
Soooo, Nick, the super smart guy that he is, and I should know, and I do!!, 🤪👍🏻called a crane company, to come to us and pick us up right here off of the property to hoist our boat into the river! Right here in-front, from the “boatyard” as we so lovingly nicknamed it the past several years during the rebuild!
The crane company is awesome, but required some significant site prep for a launch. On Wednesday they informed us that due to the crane schedule, the launch would occur either today or next friday.
Thank goodness for fine friends and fantastic family. We all prepped the area, organized the boat, and completed more than 28 tasks to make everything ready for the crane lift...in a short 2 days.
First, one huge dead cottonwood tree had to come down.
Starting with one limb , then another, by us sawing back and forth using a high limb saw, to take the weight off of it…
Then the chainsaw did the rest!
After calculating and making 100000x sure it wouldn’t fall down the opposite way, crushing everything in it’s way, it came crashing down into the river after almost 4 hours of working on it during pouring rain and eventually beautiful sunshine!
It had to make way for a huge crane lift to come in and pick the boat up and bring it to the water from it’s almost cemented position of the last 4 years!
A big giant thank you to everyone who helped, the preparations would not have been done without you.
Yeah! So close to get the boat where it belongs… in the water!! So happy everything got done without incident!
